Details for messenger / hormone: PD-L1

EndoNet ID: ENH00669

To link to the content of EndoNet use the EndoNet ID that is given on the detail pages in the format ENX0000, where X is a place holder for the type of the component (e. g. R for receptor or C for anatomical structure).
As URL for the linking append this ID to the detail page for this type of component.
For an hormone that would be:

http://endonet.bioinf.med.uni-goettingen.de/hormone/ENH00000

It is also possible to use the search of EndoNet to link to the right detail page. The URL should look like

http://endonet.bioinf.med.uni-goettingen.de/search/ENC00000
If the search pattern is unambigious the user is directed to the corresponding detail page.

General information

  • Endothelial expression of PD-L1 and PD-L2 down-regulates CD8+ T cell activation and cytolysis. [1]
  • B7-H1 blockade augments adoptive T-cell immunotherapy for squamous cell carcinoma. [2]
  • Cancer cell expression of the B7-H1 glycoprotein has been implicated as a potent inhibitor of T cell-mediated antitumoral immunity. [3]
  • IFN-gamma regulates the expression of B7-H1 in dermal fibroblast cells. [4]
  • B7-H1 expression is augmented in cells of HIV patients; increased IL-10 production in these patients is largely induced by B7-H1-expressing CD14(+) cells. [5]
  • B7-H1 is expressed by human endothelial cells and suppresses T cell cytokine synthesis. [6]
  • B7-H1 is constitutively expressed on monocytes and differentially matured dendritic cells, but not on B cells. [7]
  • B7-H1 and B7-DC play a role in virus-associated immune responses in the airways. [8]
  • Highly expressed in the heart, skeletal muscle, placenta and lung. Weakly expressed in the thymus, spleen, kidney and liver. Expressed on activated T- and B-cells, dendritic cells, keratinocytes and monocytes. [9]
  • PD-L1 is expressed by human renal tubular epithelial cells and suppresses T cell cytokine synthesis. [10]
  • B7 family member.
  • Interferon-beta enhances monocyte and dendritic cell expression of B7-H1, a strong inhibitor of autologous T-cell activation. [7]
