Details for messenger / hormone: fibulin 1A

EndoNet ID: ENH00848

To link to the content of EndoNet use the EndoNet ID that is given on the detail pages in the format ENX0000, where X is a place holder for the type of the component (e. g. R for receptor or C for anatomical structure).
As URL for the linking append this ID to the detail page for this type of component.
For an hormone that would be:

http://endonet.bioinf.med.uni-goettingen.de/hormone/ENH00000

It is also possible to use the search of EndoNet to link to the right detail page. The URL should look like

http://endonet.bioinf.med.uni-goettingen.de/search/ENC00000
If the search pattern is unambigious the user is directed to the corresponding detail page.

Synonyms

  • fibulin-1 isoform 2
  • FBLN1 isoform 2
  • Fbln-1 isoform 2
  • Fibulin-1
  • fibulin 1A
  • fibulin-1 isoform A

General information

  • Alternative splicing of Fbln-1 precursor RNA results in the expression of four transcripts which encode overlapping polypeptides, designated A-D, differing only in their carboxy terminal domain. [1]
  • The Fbln-1 glycoprotein can self-associate and bind to ECM proteins including fibronectin, laminin, and nidogen, and to the coagulation protein fibrinogen. [1]
  • Fibulin-1 acts as a cofactor for the matrix metalloprotease ADAMTS-1. [2]
  • GROalpha is highly expressed in adenocarcinoma of the colon and down-regulates fibulin-1. [3]
  • Progesterone induces the fibulin-1 expression in human endometrial stromal cells. [4]
  • Fibulin-1 binds the amino-terminal head of beta-amyloid precursor protein and modulates its physiological function. [5]
  • Serum opacity factor is a streptococcal receptor for the extracellular matrix protein fibulin-1. [6]
