General information

  • The endocannabinoids are widely distributed in brain, they are synthesized and released upon neuronal stimulation, undergo reuptake and are hydrolyzed intracellularly by fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH). [1]
  • 2-Arachidonoyl glycerol can also be hydrolysed enzymically, both by FAAH and by other hydrolases yet to be characterized. [2]
